2017 off to a busy start in St Pat’s

Open day

St Pat’s Boys' Primary School, Lombard Street, Galway, will hold an open day on Thursday February 2. Prospective pupils from second to sixth class and parents are welcome from 2pm to 4pm. Drop in for a cup of tea and a chat with the friendly teachers and staff. This is the ideal opportunity to see the classes at work and have your questions answered. Parents and children can also learn about the extracurricular activities and educational facilities available in this school in the heart of Galway city.

Art exhibition

The school will host an art exhibition created and curated by pupils. Their pictures will be framed and displayed over two days. This is an excellent opportunity for these boys to exhibit and share their creative talents with family and friends. The exhibition will be officially opened by Tom Kenny of Kenny’s Bookshop & Art Gallery.

Grandparents' day/foundation day

On Wednesday February 1 the school celebrates its founders, the Patrician Brothers, who founded St Pat's then known as ‘the Mon’ back in 1827, and fed generations of Galway boys since the Great Famine. The school combines this day with a celebration of grandparents and older relatives to whom we owe so much. There will be Mass in the school hall at 11am and refreshments will be served by the parents association. St Pat’s has always been the school of choice for Galway boys who have traditionally gone on to complete their secondary education in St Joseph’s ‘The Bish’.
