Accredited one-year business and executive coach training programme

The next Coach Institute of Ireland one-year business and executive coach training programme will begin in Galway on Thursday and Friday, March 2 and 3. The programme will be facilitated two full days a month from March to December, with a break for July and August.

This one-year part-time programme is highly experiential, and many individuals who have completed the programme find it has a transformational impact on their lives and work. The programme is an excellent development opportunity for managers/directors, organisational psychologists, organisational consultants, psychotherapists, and health care professionals. In addition, the programme will be pertinent to human resource professionals, training and development professionals, educators, social workers, and allied professionals who wish to develop and enhance their personal and professional skills.

The training programme will cover communications skills, including active listening, paraphrasing, clarifying, summarizing and responding to the client’s frame of reference. Participants will have an opportunity to set goals for themselves, reflect on their values, as well as exploring their self-limiting beliefs. Individuals will learn about leadership styles, how they sabotage themselves, and how to develop their intuition. The programme is a particularly effective way for participants to enhance their emotional intelligence in life and business. In addition to exploring the above, participants will develop the skills to coach others both personally and professionally.

The programme is accredited by the worldwide coaching organisation The Association for Coaching. In addition, this programme has also been approved for continuous professional development credits for members of the Psychological Society of Ireland.

Programme leader Evelyn P Gilmore is a work and organisational psychologist, and a registered psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland. She has a first-class honours master's in work and organisational psychology, and is currently doing a doctorate in organisational consultancy with the Tavistock in London. Coach Institute of Ireland is the longest established coach training programme provider in Ireland, and its programme facilitators have many years of experience in business coaching, training, psychology, psychotherapy, and consulting. Ms Gilmore points out that participants need to be motivated to enhance their own level of self-awareness, as well as looking at how they can be more effective in their personal and professional lives.
