Curtain call — KATS marks two decades with search for new members onstage and off

KATS (Knocknacarra Amateur Theatre Society ) will be celebrating 20 years in existence in 2017. This local theatre company supported by local business, had a very successful Theatre Supper in the Galway Bay Hotel last November.

This Monday, January 23, KATS will hold its annual general meeting in the meeting rooms at Joyce’s supermarket, Knocknacarra at 8.00pm.

If you are interested in socialising through the medium of theatre whether backstage, front of house, costumes, make up, directing, acting or being a lighting or sound technician, please feel free to come to the meeting. The nature of theatre is that it is ever-changing with new challenges and new blood is always welcome.

It was the late Paddy Henry (Rusheen Bay ) who kickstarted KATS in 1997 and brought together the theatre group that went on to win the All Ireland amateur theatre trophy in 2004.

The current chairperson is Geraldine Holmes of Seacrest. Should you require any further information please contact her by email at [email protected] or 0872608867 (after 3pm ).
