WALLIS BIRD, the Wexford singer-songwriter, returns to the Róisín Dubh this month as part of her new tour, promoting her latest album, Home, which also takes in the continent, Japan, and Australia.
Wallis plays the Róisín Dubh on Friday January 20 at 8pm, where she will perform songs from Home, as well as her previous four albums. Home was released last September, and the artist describes it as a "thank you letter" to her muse and partner, and its cover features the two of them locked in an affectionate embrace.
Support is from Sam Vance-Law. The Canadian artist is known for his work in Dear Reader and Get Well Soon. His debut solo album, HOMOTOPIA, ranges from guitar-driven pop, to orchestral interludes, to the sounds of the chapel of the New College Choir. Wallis Bird said of him: "If Gore Vidal and Shakespeare wrote music, they'd sound like Sam Vance-Law! Red raw yet blue blooded, laugh out loud blunt, and cry out loud candid."
