Mercedes-Benz cuts new car prices by ten per cent

Here in Ireland, Mercedes-Benz has introduced a 10 per cent reduction in the price of all passenger cars with immediate effect.

The reduction, which will apply for a limited period, will be implemented evenly across all models and all model segments, free of any terms and conditions.

The intention behind the price reduction is two fold - to maintain market impetus as the industry faces into a new sales year and to give support to a dealer organisation in its efforts to combat the effects on new car sales here following the movement in currency values from the recent Brexit result.

To date, Mercedes-Benz passenger car sales in Ireland for 2016 have increased by a massive 44 per cent compared to last year.

These latest significant savings for the buyers, along with the recent introductions of new models such as the very impressive new E-Class saloon and estate (saving up to about €6,700 ), and the C-Class and GLC coupes, will no doubt grow the Mercedes-Benz market share in Ireland.

The Mercedes-Benz star will adorn some nine new models in the next year. These will include a smaller SUV to rival the BMW X2; coupe, all-terrain, and cabriolet versions of the E-Class; the new X-Class pick-up, and three new crossovers coupes.

Emphasising that the initiative is being taken to counteract what may turn out to be a short-term situation, a Mercedes-Benz spokesman in Ireland says that this "new pricing arrangement will extend for a limited period only and in that regard motorists who may wish to avail of it are advised to contact their authorised dealer and make appropriate arrangements as soon as possible".
