New book on Loyalist/British collusion to be launched in Galway

A State in Denial by author and researcher Margaret Urwin of Justice for the Forgotten

A NEW book, dealing with collaboration between loyalist paramilitaries in Northern Ireland and the British state, written by a leading member of Justice for the Forgotten, will be launched in Galway this week.

Margaret Urwin will launch her new book, A State in Denial: British Collaboration with Loyalist Paramilitaries, in the Galway People's Resource Centre, St Clare's Walk, Merchants Road, on Thursday November 17 at 7.30pm. The guest speaker will be Anne Cadwallader of The Pat Finucane Centre.

A State in Denial has been described by Justine McCarthy of The Sunday Times as a "ground-breaking response to British propagandists and their Irish apologists. Opens up a chilling vista of what really went on during the Troubles". Both the author, and Ms Cadwallader, who has carried out major research into state collusion through the Pat Finucane Centre in Belfast, will give a presentation on the night about their work and also detail a number of their findings.

The event is part of Galway Sinn Féin’s autumn/winter events programme. Admission is free and all are welcome.
