Managers get the nod

The Galway County Board announced earlier this week that both senior hurling manager Micheal Donoghue and senior football manager Kevin Walsh have been ratified for a new three year term from 2017-2019.

In his second year in charge Killannin's Walsh led Galway footballers to the Connacht title with an impressive victory over Roscommon before losing out to Tipperary in the All Ireland quarter final.

Donoghue's first season in charge with Galway saw his team come within a point of All-Ireland champions Tipperary in the All Ireland semi final.
