Free training in computer networking

GRETB in conjunction with PFH Technology Group is running the Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate ) qualification.

The CCNA course is a 15 week blended learning programme consisting of one workshop per week, with four days of directed self-paced learning. The workshops will be mostly practical, configuring Cisco routers and switches. The self-paced learning will include computer based training packages and Cisco Press Certification courseware.

The Cisco CCNA qualification is recognised worldwide as a reputable indicator of networking capability. Computer-related positions, such as computer and network support specialists, can benefit from obtaining the CCNA credential.

As enterprises migrate toward controller based architectures, the role and skills required of a core network engineer are evolving and more vital than ever. To prepare for this network transition, the CCNA routing and switching certification will not only prepare you with the knowledge of foundational technologies, but ensure you stay relevant with skill sets needed for the adoption of next generation technologies.

The CCNA training includes: network fundamentals, LAN switching fundamentals, switching concepts, routing fundamentals, infrastructure services, infrastructure maintenance - configure and verify device-monitoring, backup and restore device configuration, plus LAN switching technologies, routing technologies, and WAN technologies.

Starting in October 2016, training will take place at the PFH Training Centre, Merlin Park, Galway. Established since 1985, PFH is one of Ireland’s largest ICT training providers (www.pfh.ie ).
