Fred Johnston to give creative writing classes

Classes to take place in NUI Galway

THE POET, author, and critic Fred Johnston will give a creative writing course, for those interested in writing poetry or prose, in NUI Galway, starting Monday October 3.

The courses will cover the nature of poetry and prose; style and development; how to read good writers; publishing and how best to approach it; and examine what is poetry and how it differs from prose.

Fred Johnston was born in Belfast. He co-founded the Irish Writers' Co-Operative; founded the Cúirt festival; and in 2002, the Western Writers' Centre, Galway. In 2004 he was appointed writer in residence to the Princess Grace Irish Library in Monaco.
