CHICAGO BANDS Dowsing and Ratboys come to Galway next week as part of a European tour, playing the Róisín Dubh, where the bill also includes Irish trio Shrug Life.
Dowsing have been gaining much critical acclaim for their latest album Okay (Asian Man Records ), best categorised as "power-pop that isn't afraid to get a little loud" (Stereogum ). Ratboys released their debut LP, Aoid, on Topshelf Records in 2015, turning heads with their "post-country" sound, fusing Americana rhythms with a garage rock sensibility.
Shrug Life were recently in Galway as part of tours with So Cow and Oh Boland. A band hailed as "Dublin's premiere observers of the sterility of Irish modernity" (Broadsheet ), Shrug Life will be the opening act for the show in the Roisin Dubh on Wednesday October 28.
