Lisa O'Neill - live at Nocturne

"AT A time when sameness threatens to drain the world of charm and surprise, Lisa O’Neill stands tall for difference, as an outlier with a mission to frame the world as she sees it and to perform it accordingly. Her voice is her own."

So wrote The Irish Times about the Cavan singer-songwriter Lisa O'Neill who is coming to Galway on Sunday September 25 to play the sixth in the Nocturne series of gigs at Loam restaurant, The Fairgreen.

In April O'Neill released her third, critically acclaimed, album Pothole In The Sky, the follow-up to 2013's Choice-nominated Same Cloth Or Not. Hotpress called it a "career high" with "a terrible beauty hovering inside these almost unbearably honest songs". She has performed at shows in the National Concert Hall commemorating the 1916 Rising, and she will support The Divine Comedy on his European tour later this year.

Speaking about her music she said: “My perspective is influenced by my environment and emotional experiences," she says. "My perceptions are as individual, debatable, ever-changing and as unimportant as anyone's. The more I know, the smaller I feel, the smaller I feel the more I wonder."

Tickets are €20 and are available from Loam only.
