Eat for Italy to support earthquake victims

A charity dinner will take place this Sunday (September 4 ) to raise funds for the victims of the recent earthquake in Italy.

The earthquake on August 24 killed some 300 people and flattened entire villages and ancient towns like Amatrice, but even newly constructed buildings that were supposed to be quake-proofed, including a school, were destroyed.

Galway's Italian community wishes to do something to aid victims and their families and has organised an evening in the Eyre Square Hotel this weekend. If you would like to attend the event, tickets can be purchased at the Eyre Square Hotel for €20 and include a three course meal, live music, and a drink. All proceeds will be donated to the towns of Amatrice, Accumoli and Arquata del Tronto through their respective accounts.

For further information and tickets, call Sara on 085 1734 314, or e-mail: [email protected].
