Connacht Rugby stars to launch Galway’s new superstore

Two companies with shops in Galway are joining forces with the idea of creating a "super store".

Currys PC World and Carphone warehouse are launching a new technology superstore on Saturday in Galway's Retail Park on the Headford Road. And the public are invited to the launch at 12 noon, which will be attended by three Connacht Rugby players and broadcaster Hector Ó hEochagáin.

Ó hEochagáin will host a panel discussion in store with Connacht stars Tiernan O’Halloran, Bundee Aki and Ronan Loughney, chatting about last year’s amazing Pro 12 victory and what fans can expect for the upcoming season.

Rugby fans will be given the chance to put their own questions to the players by submitting them before the event via twitter using #techsuperstore, and the players will also give supporters a chance to get some selfie time with the Guinness Pro12 champions.

Customers will also be treated to 15 per cent off everything in the store over the weekend from the latest laptop, washing machines to all the mobile technology products.

Jeffrey Durcan, general manager, says the new integrated store offering of Carphone Warehouse, Currys and PCWorld together allows it to lead and respond to the changing nature of connected technology, ensuring customers can get the latest in electrical, technology and mobile in one store.

"We are delighted to have the Connacht players and Hector helping us launch our brand new superstore here in Galway for what promises to be a great customer event. This is an exciting proposition for our customers."
