The inaugural Clarinbridge Oyster Marathon will take place on September 10 this year.
In addition to the full marathon, a half marathon and 10km will take place on the Kilcornan Estate in the heart of the village.
With three distances, the course consists of 5km loops over a mixture of newly surfaced forest trail and the estate avenue which is tarred throughout. As a result the course has something to appeal to all participants, from the seasoned runner to those taking their first dip into the marathon distance.
The event takes place the same weekend as one of Ireland’s longest running festivals, the Clarinbridge Oyster Festival, which celebrates the heritage of Clarinbridge and its famous oyster industry.
The Western region of Foróige is delighted to be partnering with the Clarinbridge Oyster Marathon committee for this first event in this picturesque village.
