CHARLIE PARR is, for some, the alternative Seasick Steve, the man for whom Steve is, in a sense, making the paths straight.
A recent review in the Irish Independent said “Parr is the Seasick Steve that never was”. The Irish Times said: “With Seasick Steve stomping the blues on centrestage, perhaps the world might also wake up and listen to the remarkable Charlie Parr.”
Galway will be able to see for itself when the Minnesota country-blues singer plays upstairs in the Róisín Dubh tonight at 8pm. His show is part of a tour to promote his new album Roustabout (Independent Records ).
Tickets are available from the
Róisín Dubh and Zhivago.
