GIAF 16 gigs @ Electric

Optimo, Tama Sumo, Stingray 313, Nightmares On Wax, Sleazy McQueen

KEITH MCIVOR and Jonnie Wilkes, the DJs behind Glasgow clubnight Optimo will be among those spinning the decks at the Galway International Arts Festival shows taking place in Electric.

McIvor and Wilkes kick off GIAF gigs at electric with their set tomorrow night. At Optimo anything goes, with the emphasis on creativity and spontaneity, mood, and improvisation.

Panorama Bar resident Tama Sumo will collaborate with Galway based club night Shivers on Thursday July 21. Outings for Fact, Drama, Café Moskau, and Tresor in Berlin, have all contributed to her wide regard as one of the finest selectors in the world. Her motto is: “Music is pure communication – stay in contact and follow your heart!” Support is from Shivers resident Eoin.

Electric will celebrate its fourth birthday on Saturday 23, hosting internationally acclaimed DJs across all three areas of the club.

Factory will host Detroit mainstay DJ Stingray 313 with long time collaborators and friends Epoch. The main room will house Warp Records veteran Nightmares On Wax with support from Graham Doherty. Whiskey Disco head honcho Sleazy McQueen throws down in The Garden with Dublin’s Keep Schtum and Anthony Collins.
