Authentically crafted beers at John Keogh’s

John Keogh’s, Galway’s newest gastropub, has launched its extensive craft beer menu. Sourced from around the globe and from all over Ireland, John Keogh’s craft beer menu has something for everyone.

The newly developed pub and restaurant has opened in the heart of Galway in the city’s west end. The new gastropub was developed by Matt Hall, a Galway resident who also owns MacBride’s Bar in Westport.

The extensive menu of beers on offer includes a selection of Kinnegar beers from Donegal, the ever popular Galway Hooker beer, and Independent Cascade from Galway. Other beers include Sheep Stealer from Roscommon and Dan Kelly’s from Louth. The menu also includes a range of popular German craft beers including Spaten, Paulaner, and Erdinger. These beers match very well with John Keogh’s delicious food menu.

Food is a major part of the business with Pat McEllin, previously head chef in the Latin Quarter Bistro and sous chef in Kirwin’s Lane Restaurant, is leading the team. The menus change regularly with all the emphasis being on local and fresh. The menu offers a selection of small plates and larger plates including mini beef and chorizo burgers, lamb belly, Herterich’s pork pudding, braised lamb shoulder, and flat iron steaks.

Matt Hall said: "We are proud to offer an extensive range of craft beers which we feel work very well to complement our gastropub menu. Our two bars stock over a dozen craft beers, numerous craft whiskeys and gins, along with all of the mainstream beverage products."

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 5pm to close, Saturday and Sunday 2pm to close.
