TEN TON SLUG, the Connemara metal band formed by brothers Sean and Micheál Ó Suilleabhain, are one of only two Irish metal acts playing the prestigious Bloodstock Open Air, one of the biggest heavy metal festivals in Britain.
Ten Ton Slug will perform at the festival which also features Slayer, Venom, and Mastodon. The other Irish band at Bloodstock is Dublin's Two Tales of Woe, both having secured a place at the fest through the Metal To The Masses battle of the bands.
Ahead of their festival appearance, Ten Ton Slug and Two Tales of Woe will play a free gig in Sally Longs, tomorrow, from 8.30pm.
Two Tales of Woe's down tuned, heavy, yet melodic mix of doom and sludge metal, with elements of classic rock, has earned them comparisons to Crowbar, Corrosion of Conformity, and Down. Their debut album, Conversations With Death, came out in 2009. They are currently working on a new release.
Founded in 2014, Ten Ton Slug play groovy sludge metal and some of their members also play in Weed Priest, Na Cruitne, and Between The Lines. Since 2015 they have released the two song demo, Live At Oaks, and a second release is imminent.
Support is from Belfast doom metal and stoner rock band, Causticgod, whose line-up is drawn from Bad Boat, War Iron, Okus, Astralnaut, and Two Tales of Woe.
