Mná Mná - three women, three kinds of music @ Roisín Dubh

Meaghan La Grandeur, Lauren NĂ Chasaide, and Maja Elliot to perform

THREE IRISH singer-songwriters - Meaghan La Grandeur, Lauren Ní Chasaide, and Maja Elliot - will play Mná Mná Music at the Róisín Dubh this evening, in the venue's upstairs bar from 8.30pm.

Singer, comploser, and violinist Meaghan La Granduer made her international debut with the National Dance Company of Ireland in 2012, performing at more than 200 shows in Japan. Since then she has toured Russia, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, America, and Canada. She has also opened for Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy.

Her original music is rooted in Irish trad, but with modern indie/folk influences. Her composition 'Kilmainham Lullaby' was scouted by Plimsoll Line Entertainment and used in Ireland Rises, a production commemorating the 1916 Rising. Meaghan was subsequently cast in a lead role, performing her song in Dublin City Centre during the show's summer run in 2015.

The music of Maja Elliot is dreamy and ethereal weaving in classical, world, and jazz influences. Her songs have been played on Lyric FM's The Blue Of The Night, and she has toured with Anonhi, who said of her: "Maja Elliott's playing has touched me. She is so expressive, holding notes in fearless witness to subtle emotions."

Dubliner Lauren Ní Chasaide performs as Gaeilge and in English. She was recently nominated for the Best New Irish Music Act award by Nós magazine. Her debut album, Interphase, will be released later this year.

Admission is €5.
