A choral concert in aid of COPE

Owen Gilhooly, the Marine Institute Singers, and the SSE Airs in concert

THE RENOWNED tenor Owen Gilhooly joins the Marine Institute Singers and SSE Airtricity’s workplace choir, the SSE Airs, for a concert in the Augustinian Church, Middle Street, on Saturday June 11 at 8pm.

Entitled ‘Midsummer Melodies’ the concert will feature favourites from the popular choral repertoire and contemporary pieces. The event is being held in association with COPE Galway and funds raised will support its ongoing work helping the homeless.

The Marine Institute Singers are recipients of the National Workplace Choir of the Year award, while the SSE Airs have won the Clef Club Award for Mixed Voice Choirs at the RDS Feis Ceoil, and the Opera Shield for Mixed Choirs at the AIMS Choral Festival in Wexford.

Tickets are €12/10/30 (family ticket ), and are available from COPE Shop, St Augustine Street; COPE Galway, Calbro House, Tuam Road; Marine Institute, Rinville, Oranmore (091 - 387483 ); or at the door on the night.
