YES! - celebrate marriage-equality's first anniversary

Two day event of clubbing, a movie screening, table quiz, and food

A YEAR on from the vote to legalise same-sex marriage in the Republic of Ireland, Galway will celebrate that momentous day with clubbing, a movie screening, a table quiz, brunch, while raiseing funds for LGBT charities.

YES! A two day extravaganza to celebrate the first anniversary of the marriage equality vote takes place in Electric, Abbeygate Street, this Saturday and Sunday.

It starts on Saturday at 8pm with a screening of The Queen Of The Ireland, a documentary about Panti Bliss/Rory O'Neill who became an iconic and important figure in the drive for gay rights in Ireland, and was creditied with playing a leading part in the marraige equality campaign. Entry is by donation. The film will be followed by the Alice Clubnight from 11pm.

Sunday will see an 'all day party', with dancing, in Biteclub from 4pm. There will be a table quiz with Tonie Walsh and Anthony O'Donoghue from 5pm. Admission to the quiz is €5 per person/€20 per table. All proceedswill be given to Amach LGBT Galway.From 6pm it will be clubbing until late with DJ's John Daly, Byron Yeates, and Tonie Walsh.
