LIZ AND Yvonne Kane, two of the most vibrant forces in Irish trad, play the next Galway Youth Arts Alliance Show Up and Show Off gig at the Fóroige Youth Cafe, Fairgreen, this Saturday at 7pm.
The acclaimed fiddle players, who have recorded and toured with Sharon Shannon, have been praised by New York music critic, Earle Hitchner, for their "fine-honed unison fiddling by two musicians who know how to draw out the heat and light within a melody".
The event, intended for secondary school students their families and their friends, begins with an open mic at 7pm. Young people are welcome to perform in the art form or musical genre of their choice. The Kane Sisters play at 8pm.
