THE POET Kevin Higgins will host a series of poetry workshops this month in the Galway Arts Centre, where participants will be given writing exercises and feedback on their work.
The Tuesday classes (7pm to 8.30pm, starting May 10 ) and Friday classes (2pm to 3.30pm, starting May 13 ) are open to complete beginners as well as those who have been writing for some time. Thursdays is the Advanced Poetry Workshop (2pm to 4pm, starting May 12 ), and is suitable for those who have participated in poetry workshops before or had poems published in magazines.
Kevin is the author of the poetry collections The Boy With No Face (2005 ), Time Gentlemen, Please (2008 ), Frightening New Furniture (2010 ), and The Ghost in the Lobby (2014 ), as well as a collection of essays and book reviews, Mentioning The War (2012 ), and satires, 2016, published earlier this year.
