Edwin Sammon Vs Cancer @ Róisín Dubh

New comedy show from Republic of Telly and Bridget and Eamon star

A BATTLE with cancer is hardly a laughing matter, but Edwin Sammon, one of the most impressive new Irish comedians finds humour, poignancy, and hilarity drawing from his own experiences in his new show Edwin Sammon Vs Cancer.

The Offalyman performs the show at the Róisín Dubh on Wednesday May 11 at 8.30pm in the venue's upstairs bar. Edwin's unpredictable and crowd pleasing style saw him win the 2011 Tedfest Golden Toilet Duck Award and led to him supporting Jason Byrne, Phil Jupitus, and Ardal O'Hanlon while performing at major festivals and comedy clubs across Ireland and Britain.

He has appeared on RTE's New Comedy Awards and in 2013 was part of the sold out nationwide Lads Of Comedy tour. He has more recently appeared as Fr Gabriel in RTÉ sitcom, Bridget and Eamon, and on Republic Of Telly.

Supporting is from Stellar 2015 Comedian of the Year, Andrea Farrell. Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
