The Young Folk - new album and Róisín Dubh show

New album, First Sign Of Morning, is out now

THE YOUNG Folk have just released their new album, First Sign Of Morning, and they make a welcome return to the Róisín Dubh on Saturday May 7 at 9pm.

The album has won praise, which The Last Mixed Tape called it "an eloquently constructed album of mood and tone" and a "vast and defined improvement...This is an album made of lived-in emotions and has the songwriting to back these themes up".

The video for the recent single 'Home', features actors Gus McDonagh and Paul Reid, from the RTÉ series Rebellion. The video is the story of man in a hospital bed whose heart stops. As the heart monitor flatlines, the video begins and the duration of the song is what takes place in his mind during that flatline. It was directed by Bryan Quinn.

The Young Folk are Anthony Furey (lead vocals/guitars ), Paul Butler (vocals/piano/melodica/xylophone ), Tony McLoughlin (bass/mandolin/banjo/backing vocals ), and Alex Borwick (trombone/synths ).

Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
