The Woodburning Savages - ‘bloodlust rock’n’roll’

"THE WOODBURNING Savages mix snarling, bloodlust rock'n'roll, archetypes with gloriously incongruous and wildly inventive melodic ideas." So said BBC Radio Ulster's Stephen McCauley about the band that's coming to Galway.

The Derry quartet, who Tom Robinson of BBC 6 Music declared "the most amazing live band I have seen all year - bar none", play a free gig in Monroe’s Live on Friday April 8 at 11pm.

The quartet came together in 2012 and within two years had released the EP Boom and performed at the Glastonbury BBC Introducing Stage. They have also shared stages with Hozier and Villagers. Their live sets are known for fuzz guitar and infectious, pop/rock, melodies, and their influences include The Clash, Manic Street Preachers, New Order, and Echo & The Bunnymen.
