Songs and Chopin for lunch

Soprano Rachel Croash and pianist Nadene Fiorentini in concert

THE SOPRANO Rachel Croash and pianist Nadene Fiorentini will perform songs by Dvorak, Poulenc, and a solo piece for piano by Chopin, at a lunchtime concert in the Hotel Mayrick on Thursday March 10 at 1pm.

The concert, the latest in the Music for Galway SAP lunchtime series, sees the welcome return of Rachel Croash who delivered an impressive performance at the launch of this year’s MFG season, when she performed Rachmaninov and Mendelssohn accompanied by artistic director Finghin Collins. Since then, Rachel performed at the Wexford Opera Festival, where she was awarded the Wexford Festival Opera Aria Friends Bursary. She has toured nationwide as the lead in Susanna’s Secret with Opera Theatre Company.

Rachel will be joined by Inishowen pianist and the National Concert Hall’s 2014 Rising Star 2014, Nadene Fiorentini. Nadene is in her fourth and final year of a doctorate at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin and maintains an active performing and teaching career.

Admission to the concert is €5. A concert/lunch combo is €12. Pre-booking for the combo is essential. For more information 091 - 705962 or email [email protected].
