Wyvern Lingo - new EP and Róisín Dubh show

TOMORROW SEES the release of Letter To Willow, the new four-track EP by the brilliant Wicklow trio Wyvern Lingo, who are also coming to Galway to play the Róisín Dubh on Friday March 11 at 9pm.

The band - Karen Cowley (vocals, keyboards, bass synth ), Caoimhe Barry (vocals, drums ), and Saoirse Duane (vocals, guitar ), who have recorded and toured with Hozier, release the EP via the Rubyworks label. The tracklisting is 'Letter To Willow', 'Subside', 'Running', and 'Beast At The Door'.

Whereas the trio's debut EP, The Widow Knows, saw the group deliver an impressive, ambitious set of prog influenced folk-rock, Letter To Willow displays a very different side of their talents, through strutting funk and r'n'b infused indie-rock. A video was also made for the track 'Letter To Willow’, directed by Simon Eustace and produced by Glen Collins of Pull The Trigger Productions.

“It's a really simple, one shot video," says Karen Cowley. "We had a lot of fun with the confetti cannons and special effects… In a nutshell, the song is about refusing to respond to someone who is trying to blame you for problems they have within themselves.”

Three of the tracks on the EP were recorded in Cologne with producer Patrice Bart-Williams. It was mixed in Paris by Philippe Weiss (Dragonette, George Clinton, K’naan ). Additional recording for the title track took place in Dublin with Rob Kirwan (Hozier, PJ Harvey ) at the controls.

Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
