Elvis Costello to play Galway International Arts Festival

Songwriting legend to play on July 15 with former members of The Attractions

ELVIS COSTELLO, and his band The Imposters, have just been announced to play the Absolut Festival Big Top on Friday July 15 as part of this summer's Galway International Arts Festival.

Costello, born Declan McManus in Liverpool, has been in the business for almost 40 years, releasing his debut album, My Aim Is True in 1977. Since then he has amassed a music catalogue of 30 studio albums and 42 Top 100 singles, and collaborated with Burt Bacharach, Paul McCartney, and T Bone Burnett. He has received several prestigious honours, including two Ivor Novello Awards, a BAFTA, a Grammy, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

Costello's band The Imposters will include Steve Nieve on keyboard and Pete Thomas on drums, both former member of The Attractions. Special guests will be The Undertones.
