Bertolt Brecht's Caucasian Chalk Circle

FOR THE first time in a quarter of a century, Bertolt Brecht's The Caucasian Chalk Circle, about a servant girl impregnated by a royal, receives a full production in Galway.

The Caucasian Chalk Circle runs in the Mick Lally Theatre, Druid Lane, at 8pm from Wednesday February 17 to Saturday 20. Performed by students of NUI Galway's drama programme, and directed by Max Hafler, the show is presented by Core Theatre College and the Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance, NUIG.

A servant girl flees the war torn city carrying a royal baby with a price on his head. Part epic adventure story, part political cabaret, the play has a rich mix of music, comedy, and drama, while asking questions about justice and how to do what is right when the world is wrong.

Tickets are €10/8 and available from the NUIG SocsBox (091 492852 ) and Druid (druid.ticketsolve.com ).
