Votes will be counted in NUIG and New Inn

The fate of Galway’s politicians will be decided by the voters on Friday February 26, but the decisions will be known over the weekend when the results are counted in NUI Galway and New Inn.

The count for Galway West, where 19 candidates are standing for five seats, will take place in NUI Galway’s Bailey Allen Hall, in Árus Na MacLeinn. The count is expected to be very long, and may, like 2011 run even into several days.

The count for Galway East, where nine candidates are running for three seats, will be held in the community centre at New Inn. The count and results are expected to be completed by the Sunday night.
