GRUNGE BEGAN in Washington State in the 1980s, with bands like Green River - containing future members of Pearl Jam and Mudhoney - before going overground with Nirvana's Nevermind, and coming to an untimely end with Kurt Cobain's suicide in 1994.
For many in their teens and twenties at the time, Grunge remains a pivotal part of their growing up, while for younger people, Nirvana and what that scene represented continues to inspire and fascinate. On Friday February 26 in Monroe's Live, Galway can relive the Grunge era with tribute band, The Seattle Grunge Experience - Dave Horan (vocals ), Ger Ennis (guitar ), Shane Counter (guitar ), Mike Galorport (drums ), and Keith Murdock (bass ) - who play songs by Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, and of course Nirvana.
Doors are at 10pm. Tickets are €10/8 through www.monroes.ie
