ONE OF the best and brightest weirdos in the comedy business is coming back to Galway - by popular demand. Paul Currie, the Belfast man who wears a beard but no pants, plays the Big Fancy Róisín Dubh Comedy Clubh, tomorrow [Friday January 29] at 8.30pm.
Currie is a whirlwind of dizzying nonsense and crafted lunacy. He does puppetry, mime, prop gags, and insanely intense audience participation. He has won praise from Stewart Lee, while the Ed Fringe Guru called him, "the Monty Python version of stand up comedy". New Current said: " Currie makes sadists of us all, as never has watching another's turmoil been such fun”.
Support is from Paul Marsh, winner of the 2014 Tedfest Toilet Duck Award, a master of puns and silly dad jokes; and Ger Staunton, whose meticulously crafted material is delivered in a playful, tongue-in-cheek, style.
