DEFEKT'S USE use of analog drum machines and modular synths is a breath of fresh air in today’s laptop dominated scene, and it has won him admirers throughout the electronic music community.
Galway will have a chance to see DeFeKT (aka Matthew Flanagan ) in action when he plays the next Basement Project night in The Loft at Seven, on Saturday January 30 at 10pm.
Flanagan released a mini album in 2010, followed by a slew of 12" Eps and remixes under the DeFeKT and ESS guises on the Combat Recordings, Solar One Music, AC Records, Signal Code, Komisch, and Electronic Explorations labels. Also on the bill is Galway's Noid The Droid, who co-runs the Bap To The Future nights. Support is from Gamadon and Jelly Jessop. Admission is €10.
