RICHARD HEARNS, described by the Sunday Independent as "one of contemporary Irish art's best kept secrets" whose "star is in the ascendant" will exhibit his paintings in Anton’s Cafe, Fr Griffin Road.
Beruit-born, he was adopted by an Irish UN Commandant in the late 1970s, towards the end of the Lebanese civil war. He grew up in Dublin and Kerry and today is based in Clare, where the county's unique landscape are a constant source of artistic inspiration. "Apart from the light, the lines of the Burren are also so beautiful," he has said. "There is something magnetic about the Burren."
The exhibition opens this Saturday and will feature landscapes and still lives. The works will be for sale. See www.richardhearns.com
