Two Metronic goals in a minute settled the contest in Medtronic’s favour, but their superior spread of scores won the day as the Garda relied heavily on Cormac Bane.

The Garda tried hard to make inroads with Bane and a fine long range effort from Emmett Rocke reducing the arrears to four early.

However, Medtronic, who were on top in midfield, found scores easier to come by. and when they struck for two goals in the space of a minute, it was all over.

The first was a fine solo effort from Barry O Donovan, and substitute Ronan Conlon followed suit. Barry O Donovan tacked on another point to leave the winners in a commanding position.
