Electro, folk, and the Mná Mná Music night

Sophie Coyle, Maria Sheil, and Niamh Regan to play Róisín Dubh

SOPHIE COYLE, "a natural talent and someone I wouldn't hesitate to recommend others to go and see", according to the Scotland's Libertine Bar Review, plays the next Mná Mná Music night at the Róisín Dubh.

Inspired by Joni Mitchell, Laura Marling, and Madeleine Peyroux, Sophie's gothic-folk songs and hypnotic voice, has earned her support slots with the legendary Scottish folk singer Dick Gaughan, as well as John Spillane, Ger Wolfe, and Luka Bloom. Her best known song is 'Delirium', which was featured in the horror film Spiderhole.

Also on the bill is Bristol-Irish singer Maria Sheil. She was a member of the Irish and American roots/hip-hop group Guava, who held a residency at the Róisín Dubh for three years. In 2011 she set up her own label, KYO Records, in order to specifically promote musical collaboration of any genre globally, and has gone on to work with musicians from China, Russia Australia, Finland, Germany, and the US. She has has several releases under her electonic moniker MS44, and an EP produced by famed Berlin-based electronic artist Eomac in 2010.

Support is from Galway singer-songwriter Niamh Regan. The Irish Times described her as having "a sweet, pure folk voice bursting with potential".

Mná Mná takes place in the Róisín's upstairs bar on Monday November 16 at 8.30pm. The event is produced and curated by singer-songwriter Niceol Blue. Admission is €5.
