The North Sea - new single and Monroe's Live show

"IF THERE'S a better band mining the rich seam of post-punk individualism we have yet to hear it,” declared The Irish Times about indie-alternative band The North Sea, who critics have also been comparing to Editors, Interpol, and early Killers.

The Dublin quintet - Lee Carr (bass ), Daragh Murphy (drums ), Eoin Kenny (vocals ), and Shane Monaghan and Gary Mackey (guitars ) - have just released the new single 'December' and as part of their nationwide tour, play Monroe's Live on Thursday November 5 at 9pm.

'December' is from the band's debut album Anniversary, released in June, and produced by Grammy Award winning Irish producer David Odlum at Black Box Studios in France. State.ie said the album was "steeped in confident and intelligent compositions"; Hotpress said "the guitars dance around Kenny’s melodies creating a sound which fans of early Interpol will adore”; while Nialler9 made it an 'Album of The Week' in The Irish Times.

The video for 'December' was shot on North Great Georges Street, Dublin, and directed by Kilkenny filmmaker and visual artist Paul Mahon, who has worked with Linkin Park and Rodrigo y Gabriela.
