As part of the Start-up Gathering 2015, Ireland’s national start-up week, GMIT Innovation Hubs will host an evening of colourful start-up stories from successful entrepreneurs on Thursday October 8, 6.30pm, at GMIT Galway’s Innovation Hub (iHub ).
This free event is being run in partnership with Galway Chamber. GMIT and Galway Chamber have a long standing history working together to realise Galway’s potential as the leading location to live, work and do business.
“Our vision is to deliver a connected, dynamic, entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystem where entrepreneurs, start-ups, growth companies, and educational institutions can grow together,” said Turlough Rafferty, operations manager at GMIT iHub, Galway.
There will be a wine and food reception at the start of the event followed by speakers from GMI’s iHub, Galway Chamber, and two guest entrepreneurs; Kevin McCaffrey, founder of Tr3dent, and Brendan McLaughlin, CEO of Capsos Medical Ltd.
Kevin McCaffrey has 25 years’ ICT experience, delivering on enterprise software and business transformation projects in North America, Europe, and Africa. He has also previously built and exited three other technology companies. Tr3dent provides 3D business visualisation solutions to corporate clients.
Brendan McLaughlin is a successful and experienced executive with more than 30 years of industry experience, with a proven track record of managerial and entrepreneurial achievement, most notably in the medical device sector. Capsos Medical has patented technology for a device to facilitate the safe and controlled crossing of the calcified cap of chronic total occlusions.
A networking opportunity to meet other GMIT iHub client companies, staff, and members of Galway Chamber will take place afterwards.
