The Diabetes Team at Galway University Hospital is hosting a free ‘One Stop Information Evening’ on Type 2 Diabetes in the Croi Heart & Stroke Centre, Galway on Thursday October 1 from 6:30pm to 9pm.
The purpose of the evening is to raise awareness of Type 2 Diabetes and to provide a ‘one stop information point’ for those living with Type 2 Diabetes.
Announcing details of the evening, the Diabetes Team at GUH say this event is open to people of all ages and will answer everything you want to know about Type 2 Diabetes”.
The specialist health team from the Diabetes Unit will be in attendance on the night and speakers will include:· Dr Sean Dinneen, Consultant Endocrinologist, speaking on the ABC’s of Type 2 Diabetes Management;·Áine Cunningham, Diabetes Nurse Specialist will outline entitlements for patients with Type 2 Diabetes;· Dr Francis Finucane, Consultant Endocrinologist, will discuss the role of lifestyle in the origin and management of Diabetes;Pauline Dunne, Dietitian with Diabetes Ireland will give an illustrated presentation on understanding food labels.Places for this FREE event are limited so booking is essential.
