Autumn creative writing classes with Susan Millar DuMars at Galway Arts Centre

Starting in September, Galway Arts Centre presents a daytime class for beginner and continuing creative writing students, facilitated by poetry and fiction writer Susan Millar DuMars.

A collection of DuMars stories, Lights In The Distance, was published in December 2010, and she has also published three collections of poetry, Big Pink Umbrella (2008 ), Dreams For Breakfast (2010 ), and The God Thing (2013 ). She is currently the featured fiction writer of the American online magazine The Atticus Review.

Dumars is also co-organiser of the Over The Edge reading series which specifically promotes new writers. She edited the anthology Over the Edge, the first ten years, which includes work by 47 writers who have published a book since they did a reading at an Over The Edge event in Galway City Library.

The class is suitable for students working in either poetry or fiction. It will take place on Monday afternoons from 2.30pm to 4pm, commencing on September 21 for 10 weeks.

The cost is €110 with a €100 concession price. Booking is essential due to limited places and there are no refunds once the class has started.
