One of Galway’s leading fitness bloggers, The SuperFit Foodie, together with Geoffrey Sheridan, owner of the Training Ground Gym, are hosting an exciting fitness event known as Bootcamp Brunch on Sunday August 16.
The event will take place from 11.30am to 2:30pm in the Training Ground Gym, Barna, and the organisers hope to use it as an opportunity to bridge the gap between ‘real life’ and the healthy eating and fitness trend created by social media.
Aisling Harris, the local woman behind The SuperFit Foodie blog, says that while the healthy, clean living, trend has really taken off, many people are putting in the hours of effort in the gym or kitchen by themselves, which can get lonely. “Often people’s only support and encouragement comes from online fitness communities which are great tools but there’s never an opportunity to actually meet the people you have so much in common with. I wanted to create a way for people to come together and interact that didn’t involve a night out so this is where the idea for Bootcamp Brunch came from.’’
The event will consist of an hour long bootcamp class (suitable for all fitness levels from superfit to super-unfit ) followed by cool down, stretching and a brunch made up of foods from local and national producers. More information and tickets are available from www.thesuperfitfoodie.com
