Galway Film Centre Summer Camps

GALWAY TEENS interested in animation, cinema, and making movies should check out the Galway Film Centre Summer Camps, where they will have a chance to make a short to be screened at Irish film festivals.

The camp will feature the animation and live action drama courses. Participants in animation will use sand, drawing, and clay to create and develop characters, with help from professional animators, before transforming them into moving images. Animation for iPad will also be taught. Live action drama covers the technical and creative demands of storytelling. The class will conceive a drama, shoot the scenes, act, direct, crew, and edit a short film with the guidance of professional filmmakers.

At the end of camp, participants will receive a DVD with their finished film including the names of all participants on the credit list. The films will also be submitted to the Galway Junior Film Fleadh and the Limerick Fresh Film Festival.

Classes take place at the Galway Film Centre, Cluain Mhuire, Wellpark Road, from August 17 to 21, from 10am to 3.30pm, Mondays to Fridays. For more information contact Liz on 091 - 770748 or email [email protected].
