Aindrias de Staic - The Man From Moogaga

Acclaimed show returns to Galway Fringe Festival

AINDRIAS DE STAIC, the "wild-eyed shock of Celtic unpredictability", who fuses music, theatre, comedy, and storytelling to magnificent effect, returns to the Galway Fringe Festival with The Man From Moogaga.

In The Man From Moogaga, football, music, and mayhem collide in this comic tale of jigs, reels, raggle taggle, and growing up in the west of Ireland. It centers on the life and adventures of a young man who is a gifted musician, but wants to play Gaelic football for his town of Moogaga.

Unfortunately he is not good enough to make the team. Frustrated, he leaves to travel across Europe and America, along the way acquiring new musical skills. Returning to Moogaga, he finds the GAA Club has reached the club football finals, and a man short, they need him to tog out for the side. Can he inspire his team to win the cup?

The Man From Moogaga takes place at The Mechanics Institute, Middle Street, on Friday July 17, Saturday 18, and Sunday 19, at 7.30pm. The show has previously been performed at the Vodaphone Comedy Carnival Galway and Ashford Castle. Aindrias has presented TG4's An Jig Gig" and Bualadh Busk on the BBC. With his band The Latchikós he has played Electric Picnic, Longitude, and Body & Soul.
