Lord Of The Rings musician leads new band @ Monroe's

ALDOC to play Galway International Arts Festival gig

ALAN DOHERTY, the Irish flute player who performed on The Lord Of The Rings soundtrack, is bringing his band Aldoc to Monroe's Live on Thursday July 23 at 10pm as part of the Galway International Arts Festival.

Alan is a former member of Gradá, as is Aldoc guitarist Gerry Paul. The line-up is completed by Rasmus Steenholdt Skovmand (drums ), Christof van der Ven (guitar, banjo, vocals ), Tobias Schmitt (vocals, double bass ), Julian Maier-Hauff (trumpet, keys, electronics ), and Sjoerd van der Sanden (keys, electronics ). Their influences include Bon Iver and Sea Sick Steve, while their sound incorporates Irish trad, African music, hip hop, and bluegrass.
