Sigmar Recruitment Galway celebrating its tenth birthday this month

One of the most positive indicators of an upturn in the economy is when recruiters begin recruiting, and Sigmar Recruitment Galway has taken on a number of new staff in recent months.

Sigmar Recruitment opened its doors in 2002 and the brand has become synonymous with providing a quality service to its clients. It is also recognised as a great place to work and develop your recruitment career. The company has won 31 industry awards in total and been awarded the title of Best Large Recruitment Agency in Ireland for two years in a row, and is the only agency to have achieved this. Sigmar has the highest number of National Recruitment Federation (NRF ) certified consultants in Ireland and the highest number of NRF industry fellows (recruiters with 10 plus years experience ).

Sigmar is recognised for its work in setting the national employment agenda through events such as National Employment Week (a week long series of events created by Sigmar to highlight barriers to entry into the jobs market ). This year’s Galway event took place in the G Hotel with a panel discussion on company culture – speakers at the event included human resource representatives from Medtronic, HID Global, Merit Medical and H&A Marketing/PR. Sigmar also founded the Ireland Gateway to Europe initiative which is a not-for-profit collaborative initiative to assist US based founders, CFOs, CTOs and VCs to consider using Ireland as a base to internationalize.

There is now ongoing demand for experienced recruitment consultants and Sigmar has hired a total of 25 staff nationwide since January, and the company is continuously expanding with particular emphasis on expanding the Galway office at present. There are plans in the pipeline to hire further staff growing the Galway recruitment team substantially over the coming years to meet the demand from clients in the west across a number of sectors. The company is also investigating he possibility of opening more regional offices potentially in Athlone and the Mayo/Sligo regions.

Galway's economy continues to improve gradually with a rise in the number of job opportunities across various sectors including engineering, IT, office/admin, sales, multilingual, accountancy etc. Sarah Williams of Sigmar also notes that the temporary recruitment desk has become a lot busier with a particular increase in the number of IT/software related positions on offer.

Galway has built up a reputation as a life science cluster being home to companies like Covidien, Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Merit Medical, Creganna TactX Medical, Lake Region Medical and many more. Sigmar Galway has a strong engineering/life sciences recruitment team dedicated to helping clients find suitably experienced candidates. Sigmar not only recruits for Galway based companies but has a number of clients based in Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon, Athlone and Clare.
