Tír na nÓg to play Gort

Legendary irish folk duo release first new album in 40 years

TÍR NA nÓg, the legendary folk-rock duo of Leo O’Kelly and Sonny Condell have reunited in recent years to great acclaim and they play The Gallery Cafe, Gort, on Sunday June 14 at 8.30pm.

Last month also saw the duo release their first album of new material in 40 years with The Dark Dance. It will feature the four songs from last year's limited edition vinyl EP, I Have Known Love, which came out on FdM Records.

In the 1970s Tir na nÓg recorded three albums on the Chrysalis label. They toured the world and shared stages with Jethro Tull, Procol Harum, T Rex, Roxy Music, and The Who. The originally called it a day in 1974, with Sonny later forming Scullion and releasing solo albums and Leo also recording solo albums and working with long time friend and bassist Garvan Gallagher. The duo started to perform on and off as Tir na nÓg in the early noughties, leading to the more regular collaborations of today.

Admission is €15. See also www.tirnanog-progfolk.com
