Sugarbeat festival to take place over two days

THE SECOND SugarBeat Music Festival has been expanded into a two-day event in response to the success of last year's festival, and will take place in Tuam Stadium on Saturday August 22 and Sunday 23.

Saturday’s line-up will feature The Stunning; singer-songwriter Ryan Sheridan; ska band Interskalactic; Sligo roots/Americana band Rackhouse Pilfer, winners of the 2014 Hot Press Live Band Award 2014; Galway indie-folk band The Amazing Apples; Galway folk-prog sextet My Fellow Spopnges; Tuam poet/songwriter Seamus Ruttledge and his band Full Outfit; Abbeyknockmoy folk/indie-pop acoustic duo Dan and Dylan; and a one-off reunion show by legendary Tuam eighties band Too Much For The Whiteman.

Sunday features The Original Rudeboys; boyband Hometown, whose debut single 'Where I Belong', was the fastest selling debut from an Irish act in 2014; singer-songwriter Brendan Murray; Big Generator; rockabilly band Joe Furey and The Hayride; Tullamore folk-pop band Ruggedwood; Galway rockers Spy-Fu; and Moylough/Mountbellew pop-rockers The Risers.

There will also be a continental market, featuring vendors from across Ireland, alongside local producers and artisans. Gate times each day are 12.30pm. Saturdays curfew is 10.30pm and Sunday’s is 9pm. See www.sugarbeat.ie
