HE HAS a new album, a new single, a new Irish tour, and he will be in Galway tomorrow. He is singer-songwriter Mundy who plays the Róisín Dubh at 9pm.
April saw the release of Mundy's eponymously entitled new album, his sixth since his 1996 debut Jellylegs, as well as the single ‘Shot In The Dark’. The album was produced by Youth, best known as a member of post-punk band Killing Joke, prog-techo outfit The Orb, and for his collaborations with Paul McCartney in The Fireman.
Mundy first met Youth in 1995 but the pair were reacquainted recently, winding up in Youth’s studio in Spain where they got to work. The line-up for the recording was Mundy (guitar/vocals ), Youth (bass ), Eddie Banda (drums ), and Michael Rendall (keys ), with extra guitar rom Simon Tong (The Verve, Gorillaz, Damon Albarn ) and Michael Wadada (Suns Of Arqa ) on sitar.
Support is from Kevin May. Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
