New premises for Duane’s Seafoods

Local seafood company Duane’s Seafoods Ltd has opened a new 6,000sq ft retail and wholesale premises in Ballybane.

The company, run by Thomas Duane, has been in operation for the past 15 years and the Duane family has been in the fish wholesale business for more than 60 years. The company expanded in 2007 with the purchase of the Mermaid Fish Shop on Henry Street, but has now outgrown this premises.

The new shop, located opposite Thomas McDonagh’s, offers massive storage space over two floors. The company offers fresh fish to customers at wholesale prices.

“We source most of our fish on the south and west coast as well as local lobster crab and other shellfish,” Mr Duane said. “We also stock organic trout and salmon and smoked products from the multi award winning Connemara Smokehouse and we import a large variety of exotic fish to cater for everybody’s needs. We have fully trained friendly staff who will be more than happy to skin or bone your fish and advise on cooking. We have parking for over 40 cars and we are open Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 6pm and Saturday 11am to 4pm.”
